Much of the advertising and competition across jeweler stores is just Signet stores competing against each other. A mall might have two or three Signet stores.
What jewelry can you find at Gordon’s Jewelers?
Like most online jewelry retailers, Gordon’s Jewelers focuses mostly on bridal jewelry. That is, wedding bands, engagement rings, and matching ring sets.
Because of that, they have a big selection of engagement ring designs, and you can also create a custom ring.
Most of the pieces at Gordon’s arefine jewelry. This is jewelry made with precious metals—like gold, silver, platinum, and precious gemstones.
The most common gems you’ll find by far are clear diamonds, though Gordon’s sells other gems like birthstones and colored diamonds.
In addition to their selection of fine bridal jewelry, Gordon’s also has a lot of fashion jewelry. Most of their fashion pieces are made of gold plate, which is entirely different than fine jewelry.
You’ll also find a selection of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and even watches.
Does Gordon’s sell high-quality jewelry?
This depends mostly on your definition of “high-quality jewelry.”
In general, if you shop for a ring or other piece at Gordon’s jewelers, it will last a long time. Most of what you’ll find on their online store or in a brick-and-mortar retail outlet is durable.
But just because it won’t break doesn’t mean it’s high quality. The biggest problem with Gordon’s is that they don’t have a consistent certification for their diamonds.
Like other Signet brands, their best customer is an uneducated customer. They can use an inferior certification agency to inflate a diamond’s price, and the customer won’t know any different.
If you’re going to buy from Gordon’s Jewelers, make sure you choose a metal that’s 14k, 18k, platinum, or sterling silver. Some of what they sell is gold plate or 10k gold jewelry, which is lower quality.
And if you want to buy a gemstone, make sure you choose one with a certificate from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This is the most credible certifying lab.
If you’re looking for a precious ring for that special someone, there are hundreds of brands vying for your attention.
For better or worse, many of those “different” brands are all part of the Signet Corporation, and their offerings are the same whether you buy from one brand or another.
That’s the story with Gordon Jewelers. Nothing makes this brand unique or even different from sister companies like Kay Jewelers or Zales.
If you’re looking for something unique, you won’t find it at Gordon’s Jewelers.
