Tradesy’s mission is to provide a “safe and simple” marketplace to resell pre-owned luxury goods—including clothing and accessories. The benefits of buying from Tradesy include saving up to 90% and reducing waste by recirculating goods.
Tradesy is a modern company with values including sustainability and equality. It’s a female-founded company that claims to value diversity and inclusion. And, allowing luxury goods to be reused rather than wasted reduces the environmental footprint for every item.
Selling with Tradesy is a simple process. First, take some photos of your item and send these with some basic details to Tradesy. Second, set your price or let Tradesy suggest a fair price for your item.
Once it’s been confirmed, Tradesy will send you a prepaid shipping kit that you can use to ship your item (covering your shipping cost). Then, once the item has been authenticated, it will go live on the marketplace.
Tradesy ensures that every item is authenticated. Tradesy uses smart technology systems that can detect authentic luxury goods to within 99.7% accuracy and reliability. They also have a team of expert authenticators to ensure that you never buy a counterfeit item.
Tradesy charges a $7.50 flat charge for items that sell under $50. When the item is worth more than $50, they charge a commission fee of 19.8%. You’re able to withdraw earned money using PayPal, debit card, or ACH transfer to your bank account.
This high commission fee means it can be an expensive option for sellers.
They also have the Tradesy app, which allows you to browse, buy, and sell luxury items on your smartphone. The Tradesy app is available on IOS and Android and can take you through the whole process of selling your luxury items easily.
How is Tradesy’s return policy?
Tradesy’s return policy is one of the things we have a bit of an issue with. You can submit a return request within four days of the item’s delivery. If approved, they’ll send you out a prepaid label that will cover your shipping cost.
Sounds great, right? The problem is they only offer store credit as a refund.
When you pay cash for a luxury item (especially if it’s a large amount) and want a refund, you generally want it in cash—especially if you’ve had a bad experience and don’t want to shop there again.
You can only receive a full refund if you submit a misrepresentation claim and it’s approved.
